  • First Year Resident

Are you in a special track or focus during your residency?

I am not currently in a special track, but my interests include women’s health, behavioral health, community medicine.

Why did you choose UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program? Why Pittsburgh?

On my interview day, it was clear that the faculty and staff at UPMC Shadyside Family Residency Program genuinely care about the well-being of their residents. I had the opportunity to tour the facility and meet individually with faculty and residents, and I could truly envision myself training there. What drew me most to the program was its strong commitment to community engagement and serving underserved populations. Programs like the Centering Pregnancy allow residents to spend more time with patients, providing prenatal care through education and a sense of community. Having grown up just outside of Pittsburgh, I’m excited to continue my training in a city that already feels like home. While attending college here, I fell in love with Pittsburgh’s diverse neighborhoods and dynamic food scene.

What are your goals while here in the residency program? How will this prepare you to be an excellent physician?

My goal is to become a compassionate and competent primary care physician who not only provides excellent individual care but also works to access at the community level. Through my training at UPMC Shadyside, I hope to become a well-rounded physician equipped to meet the diverse needs of the patients I serve.

Do you have any specials interests outside of the residency?

I enjoy spending time with my two cats, Emma and Minnie. I also love trying new restaurants and working in coffee shops throughout the city.
